Sunglasses can protect the eye from long exposure

June is Sunglasses Awareness Month

A message from Dennis Lin Optometry in Monterey Park.: As summer begins, so does the amount of light that enters the human eye. Long time exposure to the sun's harmful Ultra-Violet rays can cause premature cataracts, macular degeneration, and bumps on the conjunctiva or cornea in the form of a pinguecula or pteygium. We protect our skin with sunblock from the harmful Sun's ray, therefore, it is recommended to protect our eyes with Sunglasses with UV protection. It's never too early too late to start wearing sunglasses more often.
